The dark-haired woman positioned by the ramp leading to the airplane reached for my ticket. I smiled as I placed it in her outstretched hand. A look of wonder brightened her features.
“You made my day,” she said.
It was a simple gesture but required intenion. My motivation arises from two principles —my dad greeted everyone in his path, and I want to acknowledge the dignity of those I encounter.
